The great mystery in dating is trying to figure out what it is that will make the opposite sex find you attractive, so that when you find someone you’re interested in they’ll be interested in you as well. Everyone is different and looks for different things when it comes to relationships, so how could you possibly know? Well, even if different women look for different things, there are some pretty basic commonalities that they’ll all look for at some point in their lives. If you’re able to portray yourself as a man that can do all these things well, you’ll end up doing very well for yourself. Here are some tips on how to be the perfect guy.
Be a gentleman
Chivalry is not dead. You’d be surprised at how far some good old-fashioned respect will get you. There are a lot of guys nowadays that just don’t show their women the same respect as they used to. Use that as an opportunity to stand out from the crowd. Open doors for her, buy her flowers or cards for no specific reason at all, and most of all treat her with respect. Show her you’re worthy by making her feel like she’s worth it.
Make her laugh
Women love men that can make them laugh. You don’t have to be a comedian by any stretch of the imagination, just make sure you don’t take yourself too seriously. Women want a man that can be serious and take care of business (see below), but if they’re not able to act silly every once in a while it ends up wearing on a relationship.
Be a provider
The opposite side of the coin is that you can’t just be all fun and games. Women want to know that their man can take care of business and be a man when it’s time to. You don’t have to make more money than her, you don’t even have to have a fabulous career, but you do have to have some ambition and motivation to go out there and work. Being a funny but lazy guy will usually mean you’ll end up being a lonely guy.
Make her feel good about herself
Ever wonder how that goofy looking guy ever got with that super-hot woman? Chances are he makes her feel like she’s worth a million bucks. Women want to know that their man thinks highly of them, and that he thinks she’s sexy. Tell her how beautiful she looks, or how those new pants are cute on her. Women want to know that all the little things they do to look good for you don’t go unnoticed.
Excite her in the bedroom
It’s good to be a gentleman, and it’s good to be sensitive, but a woman also wants a man that can take charge and excite her sexually. For women part of the attraction is knowing that they feel completely secure with their man so that they don’t feel self-conscious about themselves (see previous). Show her that you’re more than just her man that can make her laugh and open doors by sparking her passions in the bedroom.
Be a good father
Last, but certainly not least, you have to know how to be a good father. At some point family life is going to come into play and you have to be able to adjust. There are many ways to be a good father, but the biggest thing is that you have to be there and put the effort in. A man that can do all those things and still be gentle and understanding to children is a rare thing. Make yourself a hot commodity by being mature about true adult situations.
As you can see, it’s not easy being the perfect guy. You have to be able to be good at a variety of things, and I think that’s the whole point. Women have a lot of physical and emotional needs, and they can change at any given moment. By being strong in a lot of areas, you’ll truly separate yourself from all the other guys out there. Not only does it help you in sparking relationships, but more importantly, it helps you to keep them strong and going over a long period of time.
