Great things to do for Valentine’s day
In Dating advice for men

Valentine’s day is always a hard one for guys. You want to make it special for your lady, but usually seem to get caught up in the same old dinner and movie routine. A little creative spark can help spice up your Valentine’s day, and totally impress your woman. One of the simple pleasures of being a man the way your woman looks at you after you’ve done something for her that she absolutely loves. It’s something that she will remember forever, and put you down in history. Here are 5 Valentine’s day ideas that can make you the topic of conversation with her friends (in a good way) the next day.

Organize a hotel suite night in downtown

If you live in (or close to) a fairly major city, book a suite at one of the nicer hotels downtown. Go all out with the arrangements to make it extra special. Get a room with a jacuzzi tub, order a bottle of champagne, and a plate of chocolate covered strawberries. Make sure they’re set up in the room before you get there so when she walks in it’s a nice romantic surprise that will spark her excitement for the rest of the evening. To top it off, make all the arrangements without her knowing and don’t tell her where you’re going so it’s a surprise.

Take her on a bed and breakfast getaway

Similar to the one above, but a little more low key. Find a great bed and breakfast and plan to stay there for a fun weekend alone. Take her out to the local shops and bask in some of the local culture. Look for some interesting activities (horse riding anyone?) around the area and try to do something new together. By the time you get back, you’ll both be refreshed, and she’ll be more impressed than ever.

Take her on a classic picnic

Depending on where you live, this may not be possible due to the cold February weather. But if you can, a picnic is one of the most romantic things you can do for a woman. There’s something special (and delightfully old-fashioned) about setting up a picnic for you and your special lady. Set up a nice lunch (if you can’t make something nice, buy it!), make sure to get a nice little basket, and bring some blankets to sit on. Most guys don’t have the brass to do something so insanely sensitive, and that’s why it works. Show her you’re not most guys, and she won’t be able to wait to tell her friends in the morning.

Get her a spa treatment, then take her out

Women love spa treatments. Have you ever watched a spa commercial with your lady? You’re guaranteed to hear something to the effect of “I want to go get a massage so bad”. Find a highly reputable local salon and get her a nice day package with the works. Let her know that when she’s done you guys will go out for a night on the town. This works since she’ll be thinking about you all day while she’s getting her massages. By the time she’s done, she won’t be able to wait to see you. Take her somewhere nice, somewhat formal (since she’s all prettied up), and have a blast. For an added touch, buy her a nice dress or outfit to wear on your night out.

Cook a nice dinner and rent a romantic movie

Dinner and a movie isn’t all bad, but instead of fighting the crowds at the local restaurants and theaters, cook for your lady at home and snuggle up on the couch with romantic comedy. Cooking for your woman is always a nice touch, as women like to know that you’re willing to put up the effort for her. Plus, watching the movie at home shows her that you want to spend time with her, and have her to yourself for the night. It’s the simplest (and cheapest) of all ideas, and yet it’s a guaranteed hit. It just shows that women aren’t as concerned with how much money you spend, but with how much thought you put into spending time with her.

Those are some great ideas for you to see that sparkle in your woman’s eye on Valentine’s day. Take the time to organize it and really put a lot of effort in, it will show in the end. Again, it’s not about how much you spend, it’s the amount of thought you put into it. You care about your lady, show her. She’ll melt for you all over again.
